BAFUG Sponsors
BAFUG would like to thank the following people and organizations for
their support:
- FreeBSD Mall is the successor to the storied Walnut Creek CDROM company, re-emerged from Wind River. FreeBSD Mall is a major vendor of quality FreeBSD software, documentation, support, and services. Much thanks are due to that company for its major support of the FreeBSD community.
- The FreeBSD Project / FreeBSD Foundation
For their
continuing development of 4.4BSD and support of our efforts to promote
FreeBSD in the Bay Area.
- Former sponsor Robert Austin Company (defunct)
Robert Austin Co. held monthly computer shows at the Cow
Palace and Oakland Convention Center, where they provided us and the
Linux people space for
our Install-a-thons.
- Whistle Communications (defunct)
Whistle Communications gave us a very long-term loan of a Whistle
Interjet for use as an FTP server at our monthly Install-A-Thons, not to
mention meeting space. The Interjet is a very cool box.
- Transbay &
UC Computers
An ISP/Computer store located in Berkeley, CA. They were kind enough to
provide us with space for our monthly East Bay meetings, as well as
co-location.
- Daemon Technologies
Daemon Technologies, a BSD-centric Unix consulting and Web-hosting company,
donated the BAFUG Web and e-mail server hardware used for our
Install-a-Thons, and more. Nicole Harrington seems to have Daemontech
on hiatus at the moment, but it may rise again.
- FilmLoop
FilmLoop, Inc. of Palo Alto is an innovative service allowing users to broadcast "loops" (scrolling slideshows) of their own digitized photos to specified groups of friends. The firm gave BAFUG much-needed meeting space in November, 2005.
